A move is surely imminent for Fernando Llorente. After a bright start to his career including a silver boot at the 2005 Youth World Cup. It’s fair to say his form dipped throughout the 05/06 and 06/07 seasons, with only 4 league goals scored. Although never prolific for Athletic Bilbao his goal scoring record this season speaks for itself, 7 goals in 10 games. Add this to 8 in 11 in Europe last season and 7 in 12 for Spain and the potential is there for all to see.
Still only 25 years of age Llorente is destined for a move to a bigger club sooner rather than later. His style of play would be an ideal fit for the premiership and I could see him being a success at any of the top English teams. I’m sure the big boys in Spain are also sniffing.
